My only regularly updating comic online will be Mary Elizabeth’s Sock. It’ll continue M-F, unless it goes to pages again at some point, in which case it’d be MWF.

Lit Brick will be posted semi-regularly (with no schedule) until the commission are done, at which point it’ll be more or less done as a webcomic. It’ll continue every few months in book form. And eBook form, of course, so you can still read it on your computer! First up: that Gilgamesh book I’ve always wanted to do but couldn’t because the daily strip stole away the time.

At the PHX-CC, I learned how ludicrously easy it was to market Sporkman. He’s instantly appealing, is easy to summarize in a single sentence, and has a domain name that just rolls off the tongue. So he’ll be back. My plan right now is to do a short graphic novel of about eighty or so pages with Sporkman in it — though not as the star. You’ll learn more of this later! But I’m jazzed about the idea, think it could be big, and really wanna print it. As such it’ll probably be in some stylish black and white digest format. We shall see.

Delusionary State as a comic doesn’t seem like it’ll ever take off. I just don’t have the time to draw it, and when I do, it’s months later. That’s not really effective storytelling. As such, I’m gonna trying writing it in prose. I’ve shyed away from this in the past because no one reads prose online, but I figure it might have change if it’s heavily illustrated. Like, every other page. We’ll see! I’ll start giving that a shot soon.

Anyway, that’s my plan for now. It’ll probably change tomorrow.

ryannorth:

T-Rexes were born in wee little eggs, and they came out all tiny and adorable. I know, I know: paleontologists have been saying this for years, but we never believed them because they couldn’t produce tiny adorable plushies to prove it. UNTIL NOW.

Micro T-Rex is three inches of soft and fuzzy adorable, and comes with that removable plastic keychain clip you see pictured, so he’s ready to hang out wherever you go! He is Down for Hangouts!

I would type more but he’s TOO CUTE, look at his little arms, i’m DYING

Guys these just came out today and I really think you should buy one. Only $8.50! How can you put a PRICE on LOVE

What if I do a mini-t-Rex mini-giveaway…..??

This is a great idea! EVERYONE who reblogs this gets one entry, and tomorrow I will choose one reblog at random and send them one! REBLOG AWAY AND T-REX MIGHT COME LIVE IN YOUR HOUSE / HANG OFF YOUR FINGERS AND KEYS

PHOENIX COMICON IS THIS WEEKEND!!! I will be there with Blind Ferret at booths 707/806. Other fine webcomicers in attendance will be Randy, Danielle, and Spike at booth (???), and David and Rob in Artist Alley at table 649. WHEATON will also be there and I suspect we will get into shenanigans[TM].

Last year was my first year at PHXCC and it was an absolute blast. The fans were great, the sales were great and the show is just incredibly well run. Next to Emerald City in Seattle it was certainly one of my favorite shows of 2011.

I will have: books 1 and 2, most of my shirts from the HE Store (not from Sharksplode), sketches, stickers and unexpected, nonconsensual chest bumps, bro-hugs and that move where a bride and groom drink champagne with interlocked arms. YOU are bringing the champagne.

If you choose to participate in the ancient right of a reader offering tribute to an artist at a convention, I am partial to cookies, Starbucks Doubleshot cans, Iced Soy Lattes, and little bottles of booze that can be clandestinely added to other drinks. I’m just sayin’. Here’s a map of the entire show floor, that shows where we’ll be in relation to everything else. Seems like we’re right up front, so we shouldn’t be hard to find. Click to embiggen.

I will be there as well on Friday! Only minus the booth. I AM A COMICON NOMAD.

I’m officially making the first THIRTY-SIX pages of...

I’m officially making the first THIRTY-SIX pages of “Mary Elizabeth’s Sock” available as a FREE CBZ download. It’s ad-free, DRM-free, and features the pages at 1.5x the resolution as the website version.

This strip is dedicated to my friend Meaghan, who I’m fairly certain would rewrite Jane Eyre in exactly the same way if given the chance.

It’s really not that far off: many of the lessons Jane learns sound like they could’ve come from Yoda anyway. “It is not violence that best overcomes hate — nor vengeance that most certainly heals injury,” springs to mind.

It is as if millions of meaghans cried out “YES!” and were suddenly silenced. By something. I don’t know. YES.

True Story : When I was in high school, I took drama as part of the performing art magnet (also, marching band. the full nerd experience, you might think, but marching bands in the south are… dirty awesome) and got to direct. On occasion, including during my 20 minute musical I wrote myself, I wore a ball cap and a down vest and yelled “Faster! More intense!”

Hey, it’s John Troutman! You might remember him from such comics as Lit Brick, Mary Elizabeth’s Sock, and Sporkman.

Someone on Twitter suggested that since there was an EGS version of Troutman, EGS Troutman should logically get turned into a woman. I could not argue with that logic. I did ask Troutman ahead of time if this was acceptable, however, as I think it’s polite to ask before turning someone into a woman.

It was, for the record, his idea to include the Sporkman puppet and make it female. It was also something I could not argue with.

I’m too sexy for my hat.
